In December 2024, the Creative City Network of Canada (CCNC) issued an RFP for a project coordinator to research emerging trends and best practices in public art procurement, and in May 2025, engaged Toronto-based consultancy ART+PUBLIC UnLtd to develop and deliver a webinar series on this subject.

Supported by a Canada Council for the Arts grant, this series aims to dialogue with artists, public art professionals, and CCNC’s membership; each session will explore how we might embrace methods that create more robust opportunities for artists and build community vibrancy.

Through consultation with the 'Exploring Public Art Best Practices' Webinar steering committee, and CCNC’s Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC), ART+PUBLIC UnLtd established the notion of ‘stewardship’ as the underlying theme to shape a dynamic three-part series of conversations.
